Islands February 2007: “Perfect 10 – Le Taha’a” By: Joe Yogerst
Tahiti graces the cover of this issue of Islands Magazine. With the Le Taha’a Private Island and Spa’s overwater bungalows in the crystal blue water and Mount Otemanu rising in the background, it is the perfect cover shot for Islands’ feature titled “10 of the World’s Greatest Escapes.”
The article is the author’s one-day travel journal on Motu Tautau and at Le Taha’a. He starts off his day at this “perfect escape” with an iced coconut parfait with roasted bananas and vanilla while dipping into the lagoon right outside his bungalow. He then explores Taha’a, both over and under the water; while the clownfish and leopard eels show him the beautiful array of marine life, the volcanic peaks give him a lift above the perfect landscape en bas. Nevertheless, he relaxes in the evening with a Maitai in hand and a taste of Polynesian cuisine at the resort, then rounds off his day with another dip in the lagoon.
