Ia ora na I te noera e te matahiti api! Happy Holidays!
As 2006 comes to a close, we would like to share some of the projects that appeared over the course of the past year. We are extremely thankful to all of our Partners for their support with Public Relations initiatives. All of our hotel, cruise and airline Partners have been extremely supportive of our PR projects, and we truly couldn’t have received the amount of exposure without everyone working together. We would also like to extend our gratitude to GIE Tahiti Tourisme for all of their hard work “behind the scenes.” The public relations team based in Papeete, Tahiti are the magicians behind the scenes that make all of the media exposure come to life within the destination. Mauru’uru roa ou tou!

| Highlights of the Year |

Fostering A Spirit of "Coopetition"
The 2006 PR Summit was once again a highlight for TTNA's overall PR efforts for the year. Held at the Manhattan Beach Marriott on August 18, 2006, the Summit welcomed over 25 public relations representatives from our primary hotel and airline partners, with attendees coming from both coasts as well as Tahiti. For the first time ever, the PR Summit featured a travel journalist panel discussion in the morning, with Sherri Eisenberg (Bride’s), Barbara Beckley (freelance trade writer), Jane Engle (Los Angeles Times), and Jim Calio (freelance writer) sharing their point of view on key questions related to the travel industry as well as pitching tips and "most desired" angles for their outlets. The full-day event included a question and answer element with the panelists which allowed for more interaction and networking for the partners. The afternoon was devoted to TTNA sharing news and updates about the destination, as well as an educational backdrop for new partners who weren't familiar with TTNA's key communication points and most importantly, encouragement to work together on press trips and journalist visits. TTNA is excited to report positive results -- more partners dialogued, and worked together on press trips in 2006 than in any previous year! We’re already looking forward to next year’s PR Summit – stay tuned! |
