Ia ora na!
We’re finishing up our Spring Workshop Series this week in Mexico after two successful weeks in the U.S. and one in Canada. Below we recap attendance and Partner participation.
There have been several exciting developments in Tahiti’s tourism industry lately, which we detail below. Manea Spa, currently the largest spa in Bora Bora, opened last month at the Bora Bora Pearl Resort, and Bora Bora Cruises returned from dry dock with several new changes and additions to their itinerary.
Please e-mail us at feedback@Tahiti-Tourisme.com with any announcements, press releases, and personnel moves, and we’ll be sure to incorporate them in future updates.

| Industry News | Manea Spa Opens at Bora Bora Pearl Resort, Launches New Product Line At a roomy 6,460 square feet, the new Manea Spa at the Bora Bora Pearl Beach Resort is currently the largest spa in all of Bora Bora. Opening at the end of last month, the facility includes eight treatment rooms, an open-air Vichy shower, a beauty salon, two steam rooms, two saunas, a relaxation pavilion, and a fitness room. And there’s the Royale Pomare Suite, a treatment room tailored for honeymooners where 3-hour 20-minute couples sessions are available. The spa has also unveiled a new line of products, including body scrubs, moisturizers, and monoi oils, called “Manea.” The products will be available at all five Manea Spa locations and on the Internet. | |
Bora Bora Cruises Adds More Luxury Bora Bora Cruises has further enhanced their luxury “nomade yachting” experience with new additions and changes to the itinerary. The Tu Moana and the Ti’a Moana returned to the water in late March after a two-and-a-half month dry dock. The ships now offer butler service and have added an excursion to the sacred marae site of Taputapuatea on Raiatea, with a visit to a vanilla plantation.
Star Flyer to Cruise Tahiti Waters A new cruise ship is coming into port in Tahiti. Monaco-based Star Clippers will send the 360-foot Star Flyer to Tahiti to begin cruising in December 2007. The ship has a capacity of 170 passengers, and should provide a nice lift to the Tahiti cruise industry in the wake of the Wind Star’s departure last year.
Hotel Kia Ora Adds Internet Station Leave the laptops at home on your next visit to Rangiroa’s Hotel Kia Ora. The property recently installed an Internet kiosk in the game room that can be operated using a traditional phone card, available at the hotel’s boutique.
Hotel Bora Bora Welcomes New Global Sales Manager Hotel Bora Bora’s new global sales manager is no stranger to Tahiti. Born in Auckland, New Zealand, Bianca Henry grew up in Tahiti before attending university in Montpellier, France to study art. A position in reception at the Club Med Moorea provided her entrée into the travel industry, after which she worked as a production assistant on Survivor: Marquesas. She most recently served as Business Development Manager for The Ascott Metropolis Auckland. Bianca is now based in Bora Bora and is responsible for global sales. |
