Ia ora na!
More good news—in the month of March, Tahiti welcomed 7,334 visitors from North America, 927 more than in March 2005 (+14.47%). The 2006 March total represented 45.12% of all visitors to Tahiti during the month, and leaves North America with an increase of 8.28% in visitor arrivals for the year to date. Also noteworthy is that this year’s numbers are 2% higher than the same period in 2004. The significant gains can be attributed to a number of factors, including the momentum produced by our Tahiti Awareness Campaign in April-December 2005 and subsequent First Quarter Initiative in January-March 2006. This combination of awareness and highly tactical advertising has helped familiarize North Americans with Tahiti and has provided convenient channels for booking.
In public relations, we recently had major articles run in ISLANDS, the Atlanta Sunday Paper, and Brilliant magazine. We recap these stories below and mention other notable placements in the North American media.
