Orange County Register Travel Show Preferred Partners Tahiti Vacations and Happy Vacations joined TTNA in exhibiting at the Orange County Register Travel Show, January 21-22 in Costa Mesa, CA. There were 5,445 consumers and 116 travel agents in attendance. While several honeymooners expressed interest in Tahiti, many consumers felt that Tahiti is still prohibitively expensive. Most of the agents who attended were already familiar with the Tiare Specialist Program.
Classic Custom Vacations Showcase Classic Custom Vacations is the latest tour operator to become a Preferred Partner of TTNA. The company hosted tradeshows for their network of travel agents on January 24 in Beverly Hills, CA and on January 25 in Newport Beach, CA. The turnout was fantastic, with more than 120 agents at each location. In Beverly Hills, Vice President of Sales Greg Bernd introduced Tahiti as their newest product and announced they’ve already grossed more than $1 million USD in Tahiti sales. Hotel Kia Ora, InterContinental Resorts, and Bora Bora Lagoon Resort all exhibited at the tradeshow, and Air Tahiti Nui joined TTNA in a booth.
Los Angeles Times Travel Show/Adventures in Travel Expo/The Luxury Show The brochures flew off the pareu-draped tables at the Los Angeles Times Travel Show, a mega-tradeshow that combined with the Adventures in Travel Expo and The Luxury Show January 28-29 in Long Beach, CA. There was a near-constant flurry of activity around the Tahiti booth, where Happy Vacations, Tahiti Vacations, and Aranui/CPTM joined TTNA to answer questions and distribute collateral. In all, over 13,000 consumers and travel agents and 302 exhibitors attended the show, one of the most successful tradeshows that TTNA participates in. Attendees were pleased by the latest packages offered by Happy and Tahiti Vacations, and many asked for specific details on the differences between islands. There was also considerable interest in the dive market.
Cruise and Luxury Travel Expo With the cruise market accounting for a large portion of U.S. travelers to Tahiti, TTNA decided to participate for the first time in the Cruise and Luxury Travel Expo, held January 28-29 in Toronto. Most of the attendees who stopped by the Tahiti booth had previously cruised on Princess Cruises’ Tahitian Princess. Unfortunately, show traffic was very slow. | The Los Angeles Times Travel Show, left to right: Ghazal Malekpour/ Tahiti Vacations; Angela Restivo/ Happy Vacations; Brad Balukjian/TTNA; Joan Hanselman-Wong/Aranui
