Higher Education: MPF® University and Upcoming Webinars

One of the advantages of membership in the MPF Program is the variety of complimentary online educational resources we offer to PFIs, including webinars and MPF University. More than 2,200 users have signed up for MPF University since its introduction in 2014, and more are enrolling every day. Provided through AllRegs®, this tool includes 40 on-demand online courses covering practical mortgage industry topics like Basics of Mortgage Processing, Elements of Title Insurance, Getting to Know the Truth in Lending Act, and Regulatory Compliance for Mortgage Lenders. Two certification options are available, as well: the Mortgage Lending Achievement Certificate (for completion of five eligible courses) and the Mortgage Lending Master’s Certificate (for completion of 20 eligible courses).

“PFIs use MPF University in a variety of ways,” says MPF National Education Manager Julie Schneider. “Some register their new employees and ask them to take a series of courses as part of their onboarding to prepare them for their new roles. Others require that employees earn one of the certificates as part of their yearly goals. But many just take the courses to develop themselves professionally and advance their knowledge of the mortgage industry.”

Courses are self-paced and typically take 30 minutes to an hour to complete. They’re interactive, engaging, and kept up-to-date with the latest industry information, which may explain why they’ve been so popular with PFIs—together with the fact that MPF University is easy to access. “Normally if you were to go into AllRegs and take the same courses, you’d have to pay per person, but it is entirely free of charge for our PFIs as part of their membership with the MPF Program,” says Schneider. “It’s a simple registration process on the MPF Program website, and then they can take classes anytime they like.”
