Open Doors: West Humboldt Place

Congratulations to The Children’s Place Association on the completion and ribbon-cutting of West Humboldt Place. Located in Chicago, the project includes 13 units of newly constructed rental housing for families facing disabling health conditions and homelessness. The FHLBC awarded a $234,000 Affordable Housing Program grant to the project through MB Financial Bank in 2014.

Mercy House: Partners in Innovation

Mercy Housing recognized the FHLBC and 11 other organizations with its Partners in Innovation Award for their collaboration on Wentworth Commons Apartments – 51 units of affordable rental housing in Chicago, IL. The project received a $500,000 Affordable Housing Program grant through Park National Bank (now US Bank, NA). Tim Klont accepted the award on behalf of FHLBC at a ceremony held in Chicago.

The Resurrection Project’s 25th Anniversary

The FHLBC was proud to be a sponsor of The Resurrection Project’s 25th Anniversary Gala; we congratulate them on reaching this significant milestone. The Bank was represented by staff from the Member Product Support & Community Investment Group.

Community First® Fund Partner Reception

The Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago recently hosted an inaugural celebration honoring all six of its Community First Fund (CFF) partners at a private reception in Detroit, Michigan in conjunction with an industry event. Matt Feldman, President and CEO of the FHLBC, joined other FHLBC representatives to thank Community Investment Corporation, Chicago Community Loan Fund, Forward Community Investments, IFF, Impact Seven, and the Wisconsin Women’s Business Initiative Corporation. Since the launch of the CFF, the FHLBC has committed nearly $35 million from the CFF to these partners for their support of affordable housing, small businesses, and community lending initiatives throughout Illinois and Wisconsin.
