Apply Online for a Competitive AHP Award
The Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago's new application portal for the competitive Affordable Housing Program (AHP), AHP Online, is open and available for access by members and sponsors. AHP Online is the only way to submit a competitive AHP application. Applications must be sponsor and member approved by 5:00 p.m. CT on June 28, 2013.
 
Amendment to the AHP Implementation Plan
The FHLBC Board of Directors recently approved an amendment to the Bank’s 2013 Affordable Housing Program Implementation Plan.
 
Pairing FHA Loans with DPP Grants
The FHLBC issued a memorandum to members on March 7, 2013 in response to a HUD interpretive rule regarding pairing FHA loans with a Downpayment Plus® (DPP®) grant. On May 9, 2013, HUD issued Mortgagee Letter 2013-14 which attempts to further clarify the interpretive rule. The FHLBC is reviewing the letter to determine its impact on DPP. Once the review is complete, additional guidance will be communicated.
 
Families Benefitting from Community Investment Programs Featured in Annual Report
The 2012 Community Investment Advisory Council’s Annual Report, “The Value of Community,” is now available online.

Featured in the report are families from Illinois and Wisconsin who have greatly benefitted from the Affordable Housing Program (AHP) and Downpayment Plus® Program (DPP®).

 
FHLBC Honored at Esperanza Community Services 'Celebrating Victories Gala'
Esperanza Community Services, in partnership with First American Bank in Illinois, was awarded a $128,000 competitive AHP grant by the FHLBC in 2012, enabling the Chicago-based non-profit organization to purchase and rehabilitate two properties that will become new homes for adults with developmental disabilities.
 
DPP Marketing Brochure Now Available in Hmong
Did you know Wisconsin is home to the third largest Hmong population in the U.S.? To help members better serve this population, our customizable Downpayment Plus® (DPP®) marketing brochure is now available in Hmong.
 
FHLBC Shares Fair Housing Partnership Award
Through a combined effort, three vacant buildings on Madison, Wisconsin's east side were converted into a 12-unit quality, affordable housing development known as Jenifer Place. The Wisconsin Fair Housing Network presented several institutions, including the FHLBC, with the Fair Housing Partnership Award for this joint effort.
