Affordable Housing Program Celebrates 25 Year Anniversary
This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Federal Home Loan Banks’ Affordable Housing Program (AHP). AHP is one of the largest private sources of grant funds for affordable housing in the United States. Since 1989, the FHLBC has awarded more than $316 million in competitive AHP grants and more than $110 million in Downpayment Plus® Program funds that have helped provide approximately 92,000 units of affordable housing for homebuyers, homeowners, and renters. The Community Investment Group would like to thank the many FHLBC member institutions and project sponsors that have participated in the Affordable Housing Program and looks forward to celebrating the program anniversary throughout 2014.
