DPP® Proving Popular Once Again
The FHLBC opened its Downpayment Plus® (DPP®) programs on March 17 with an allocation of $17.4 million. Since then, participating members have reserved approximately $8.5 million (49%) on behalf of more than 1,400 households. In 2015, each participating member may access up to $420,000 on a first-come, first-served basis until the allocation has been reserved.

Celebrate 25 Years of AHP
Follow @FHLBC as we celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Affordable Housing Program, #AHP25.

June is National Homeownership Month
Did you know that National Homeownership Month actually began as a week-long celebration of homeownership in 1995? In 2002, President George W. Bush proclaimed June National Homeownership Month, with the goal of helping more families achieve the American Dream. Be sure to look for celebratory events in your community.

The FHLBC is proud to invest in homeownership. Last year, we assisted more than 2,500 homebuyers and homeowners through our Downpayment Plus® programs and our competitive Affordable Housing Program.

Policy Corner
Introducing the "Community Investment Advisory"
The FHLBC has used the "Community Investment Bulletin" format to communicate items outside of our bi-monthly newsletter distribution schedule. The topics have been wide-reaching, with varying degrees of urgency.

In an effort to better identify important policy-related messages, we’re introducing the "Community Investment Advisory." While advisories will have the same format as bulletins, the masthead will clearly identify them as advisories. Advisories will be sent to a targeted audience of those most affected by the item being communicated, so not everyone on our distribution list will receive every advisory. For that reason, all advisories will be posted on the Bank's public website for convenient future reference.
