Agents with Policies Selected for Depopulation:

The agent selection period of the 2017-2018 Assumption Program ended on October 31. You may review the list of your approved depopulation offers on the TWIA Depopulation Website to verify which policyholders are currently selected for the program.

If a policyholder wants to transfer:

If a policyholder wants their policy to transfer to the new carrier, they do not need to take any action. Their policy will automatically transfer on June 1, 2018. Your policyholder (and you) will receive reminder notices again in mid-March advising them about this change. It is important to note that in this program no action equates to the policy moving to a new carrier.

If a policyholder wants to remain with TWIA:

Policyholders will have from December 1, 2017 until May 31, 2018 to elect to remain with TWIA. You can change the status of your policyholders in the TWIA Depopulation Website. Please refer to this job aid to assist your policyholders who want to remain with TWIA. You can also tell policyholders to fill out the form sent to them by TWIA with the December 1st letter. If policyholders change their mind either way, you can update the TWIA Depopulation Website up until May 31, 2018. If you and your policyholders take no action, their policies will automatically go to the new carrier on June 1, 2018.
