Policyholder Notice and Certificate of Assumption going out May 10 - Final Reminder

This week a Notice of Assumption from TWIA and a Certificate of Assumption from depopulation insurers are going out to policyholders to let them know their policy will be automatically transferred June 1, 2017 as part of the Assumption Reinsurance Depopulation Program. If a policyholder wants their policy to transfer to the new carrier, they do not need to take any action.

See samples of these important documents below.
You are being copied on all TWIA communications to policyholders via PolicyCenter. Only the TWIA Notice of Assumption (not the Certificate) will be available in the system. We will process and upload over the next several weeks.  As a reminder, here is your process for accessing communications through PolicyCenter:

1.       From the Search tab in PolicyCenter, search for the policy that has been selected for depopulation and open it
2.       Click “Documents” on the left sidebar
3.       Open the document(s) labeled “DepopNotice05102017 ############## InsuredName”

Here are other resources to help you through this phase of the program:

  • How to Opt Out: Policyholders can opt out by calling TWIA or by signing and returning the previously mailed opt out form. As an agent you can also opt out your policyholders by following the instructions in this job aid.
  • Agent and Policyholders Communications packet – contains depopulation information and answers to potential policyholder questions.

If you have any questions, Agent Services is available to help at agentservices@twia.org or 1-800-788-8247.
