Policyholder period in the Assumption program begins on December 1

Beginning December 1, 2016, your policyholders with approved offers (offers you selected) in the Assumption Reinsurance Depopulation Program will be contacted by TWIA and the new company. Policyholders will have from December 1, 2016 until May 31, 2017 to opt out of the program and remain with TWIA. You will be copied on all TWIA communications to policyholders via email at the agency’s primary contact email address, and you will receive information about how to assist your policyholders with opting out in a future communication

Policyholders with approved offers will receive the following letters, along with any additional materials from the new carrier:

The agent selection period of the program ended on October 31. All company offers selected by that date are now locked in, and agents are no longer able to make changes or new selections. You may review the list of your approved depopulation offers on the depopulation website to verify which policyholders will be contacted.

If a policyholder wants their policy to transfer to the new carrier, they do not need to take any action. Their policy will automatically transfer on June 1, 2017.
