To All My New CoBiz Family C3 Summit Philosophy Friends:
It was an honor to be with you at The Four Seasons in Denver! It was a real treat for me to have the chance to speak with you about the most universal conditions for success in anything we do.
The ideas that I brought you have changed my own life. I hope that pondering, applying and sharing them with others will also help you along the next stages of your path as well. Most of the things we spoke about, of course, we’re already doing, in order to have gotten to where we are in life as successful people. But it’s a new source of power to see clearly what these conditions are, and how they connect up with each other. It’s immensely useful to have the entire framework available. That way, it can be used as a clear diagnostic tool for where we are now, and as a support tool for where we want to go next.
The image I love is thinking of the best practical philosophers as having left us a big bank account of wisdom to draw on. I encourage you to write checks on these great thinkers! But then don't just frame those checks and mount them on the wall—cash them in and use the payoff in everything you do.
I'm convinced that one of the most important jobs for any leader is to put these tools of success into everyone's hands. As we teach, we learn more deeply ourselves. If you'll pass on these ideas to those around you, you'll come to understand them in even more profound and practical ways.
